Payment Terms

To confirm a booking, we require full payment immediately after your booking of nights, number of people, and unit. We accept cash, money order or e-transfer. If you reside in Victoria, you can hand deliver the rental fee or if elsewhere, full payment must be received prior to start of booking.

Upon booking all  renters shall provide a security deposit of $250 up to$1000 based on occupancy details. Within 21 days +/- at end of rental/departure the Security Deposit less a $1.50 financial charge will be returned to you providing all rental policies as described and agreed to are adhered to, and there are no damages.

 E-transfers are preferred, certified cheques or money orders shall be made out to Edward Haughton.

We do not accept post-dated cheques or credit cards. When I book you in,  you forward a money order, cash or e-transfer immediately. If you do not live in Canada, a money order in Canadian dollars is required.

We are not responsible for events that are out of our control. For example, the weather or snow conditions on the roads or parking lots. However, we refund at our discretion, and our policy is:

  • If the Resort is open  the following applies, if you book and cancel before the first rental night:
    • 60 or more days, there is a full refund.
    • Within 60 days, a 50% or a full refund if we can rebook
    • Within 14 days, there is only a refund  if we can re-book.
  • If the Resort is not open on any of the days following a rental night, the renter has two choices:
    • Occupy the rental accommodation at summer rates for those nights, or
    • Not occupy the rental unit and receive a refund, but only for those days when the resort is not open.

In the event of its being impossible for us to honour a booking, a full refund of all money paid will constitute a full and final settlement.

Conditions

Rates: All rates are quoted per unit, per night based on the occupancy as indicated in this website. All rates are subject to change.

Minimum Booking: Friday and Saturday nights are always booked together except during the  non-ski season. We always book for a minimum of 2 nights, except during the peak period (Dec 16 to Jan 03 1923-1924) when the minimum is 3 nights unless only 2 nights remain. Please note the peak season period is at our discretion.

Booking Policies: Renters under the age of 19 must have their age stated and be accompanied by an adult who must occupy the unit for the duration of the stay. Please insert the  first and last names of all the members in your group or family in the inquiry form’s comment section. A renter that makes a reservation under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of the security deposit, and/or the party will not be permitted to check-in or the party will be required to vacate the rented unit.

Payments & Deposits:

  1. Full payment is due upon booking booking. We reserve the right to cancel a booking when payment is not received within seven (7) days of a booking request.
  2. Bookings made within 14 days of the rental date shall be e-transferred within 24 hours of a booking request.
  3. A damage deposit is required from all new renters or large groups.

  

 Security Deposit: All units are non-smoking and no pets. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in an automatic $250 to $500 CAD withholding of your deposit. Additional costs may be kept for issues or damage caused by but not limited to lack of cleaning, unit damage, interference with other renters, etc.

General Information: SMOKING IS PROHIBITED, AND NO PETS ARE ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY.

CLEANING AND SUPPLIES: Cleaning is not included in our rates; supplies and linens are included. Tenants are required to provide housekeeping in all suites, including including washroom and kitchen, and a general vacuum. Please clean, dry, and return all linens. Fold all bed linens and place at the bottom of the bed. Remove all perishables and dispose of garbage in bags, in the bins outside. do not leave a fire burning.

Safety Features: Fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and basic first aid kits are located on each floor.

We provide toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc. If in doubt, please ask.

Parking: A digital parking permit which is provided and is valid in any of the 4 Village parking lots: opposite the General Store, Dougan’s (east of the General Store, Lower Henry and Upper Henry. However, in the Booking Form we require your license plate number for use by the owner of our Chalet57 to register your vehicle. We recommend Upper Henry as the most convenient for The Roost. During the 2 week peak Christmas/New Year’s season, please remember that parking is at a premium.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 2023 SEASON ABOUT PARKING AT THE MOUNTAIN

A digital parking pass for one vehicle per unit per day in Village parking (e.g. Henry Lot) is included with your rental but you must provide us with your vehicle license plate information. Please include your license plate information in your booking request form where you put your guests names requests, queries or comments

Should you need an additional vehicle digital permit please request upon booking and a pass may be permitted when possible but is not guaranteed.

Note that as of 2023, paper permits are no longer acceptable in the Village parking lots. 

Sauna: The Main Floor sauna is used at the Main Floor renters’ own risk. Please make sure the sauna is turned off after use.

Compliance: The guest agrees to comply with any reasonable instructions requested by the Owners. The guest waives any claim against the Owners for lost, damages, or injury for any reason or by any result of the rendering of any of the services offered.
